Monique Duinker was born in Holland and grew up in Chile and Argentina. She studied in Switzerland and worked for an international luxury company, traveling the world for 15 years.

Painting being her passion, it was a must for her to take art classes during her trips, whether it was a drawing class in Rome, a sculpture class in Paris, or a painting class in Amsterdam. After 10 years running a fashion business in Athens, she installed herself in Los Angeles as a full-time artist and has been exhibited in various juried art shows. Monique’s works have been acquired by collectors in London, Shanghai, Amsterdam, Monte Carlo, Paris, Geneva, Athens, and various cities in the USA.

“I portray feelings through colors, from peaceful shades of white and gray to warm and bright colors. Each brush stroke on the canvas is a state of mind… fleeting moments outside my constraints, connecting to something universally larger. With no planned composition I work spontaneously and play with colors and shapes until I have created an unexplainable emotion”.
